Hey everyone! I just wanted to leave some ideas and ask what you thought.
In an effort to brand myself and consider the time I have, I think I'm going to make a few changes to my social media.
The Problem: PROFESSIONALISM:
dA really isn't looked at as a professional social media site by my peers. That being said, I know some professional illustrators use dA. I also started out here, so it has a pretty special place in my heart and I don't want to drop it. I've made a lot of friends here! FOLLOWER COUNT:
I have just over 1k followers on dA, but I feel like I could get more exposure for clients on other social media sites. However my follower counts over on other sites are 50 or below.... very discouraging. I don't care about the numbers per se, but the engagement is what matters. BRANDING:
I want to tunnel more towards the name of PepperishStudio, and then just use Pepper-Head as a more personal dont-be-afraid-to-post-fun-or-furry-stuff.
Also a problem, I can't just rename my account to PepperishStudio bc I was stupid and made it as a new account to save the name. There's no way to merge accounts or take the name on dA. NOT STAYING TRUE TO MYSELF:
I want a professional look for pepperishstudio, but would it be too easy to track pepper-head through that? I enjoy drawing furry art, but I don't want that to come back and hurt me later. I also don't want to lie if confronted, because there shouldn't be anything wrong with drawing furries. I want to just be able to draw fun and simple things again vs the pressure of fully finished portfolio stuff.
I know I can still post sketches and lighter stuff on my professional account, but it's about the content itself.
Solutions: Drop Tumblr.
While it has a few more followers than my Twitter account, I hardly get over 1 note per thing, if at all. Occasionally, fanart will get a couple notes here and there but I think my art doesn't fit the Tumblr need. Re-Purpose Pepper-Head
and post sketches, character development, little comics or animations, adopts, etc. I'd also only use my FurAffinity for that too. Set up PepperishStudio as a redirect
(on deviantart), where it's just a mostly empty account with a few gallery pieces and pointers to my other branded social media accts Ask my lovely followers here to join me on Twitter & Instagram
Every like and retweet means so much to me!
If you have any comments or other ideas, I'd love to hear them!
